Challenge

Accurately measuring blood pressure is a challenge for patients who receive trauma-related medical care and patients who suffer from heart failure. Traditional blood pressure cuffs are unreliable in detecting these patients' low and low-pulsatile blood pressures because they rely solely on pressure.

Solution

Pulsar is a novel method for measuring blood plressure that incorporates acoustic data into an automated calculation. The device collects both acoustic and pressure data from the arm and uses computer processing to determine systolic and diastolic blood pressures.
